2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Fresh New Look and Tech That Can Sense Your Hands

Mercedes-Benzunveiled its new E-Class 2021 and it comes as a 2.0 liter E350 with 255 hp or a 3.0-liter E450 with 362hp.

The new E-Class sedan offers different powertrains for the user to pick from. There's model E350, which uses 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 that makes 255hp and features 273 pound-feet of torque. E450, on the other hand, uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged I6 that makes 362hp and 369 lb-ft.

The new vehicle features a more dynamic design with Avantgarde Line as the new basic specification for the exterior and redesigned front headlamps, tail lamps, radiator grille, and front bumper.

The E-Class 2021 also comes with next-generation driving assistance systems, including a steering wheel that uses capacitive sensing to check for hands on the wheel.

It features active Distance Assist DISTRONIC with route-based speed adjustment, Stop-and-Go Assist, Steering Assist, Brake Assist now also with turning maneuver function and Blind Spot Assist now also with exit warning.

The E-Class offers electrified models for the first time for the US market. The vehicle comes with a new M 254 engine: 2.0-liter, 4 cylinder petrol engine, and a 48-volt on-board electrical system.

Almost all E-Class Sedan models will arrive at US dealers by the end of 2020. The pricing, is to be announced around the time of the release.

"In the M 254, Mercedes-Benz has for the first time combined all the innovations of the modular engine family of 4- and 6-cylinder petrol and diesel units in a single engine," said Daimler in its press release.

The car comes in seven plug-in hybrids as Saloon and Estate models, petrol and diesel, with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

"The line-up of high-efficiency, low-emission, and powerful petrol engines will cover a range from 115 to 270 kW, while the spectrum of diesel vehicles spans from 118 to 243 kW," said Daimler in its statement.

The new model provides even more comfort on the interior. It comes with two digital screens as a standard (two 10.25-inch, bonded) and an optional Widescreen cockpit with two 12.3-inch displays.

It also has an interior assistant and MBUX with LINGUATRONIC voice control and augmented reality. The E-Class comes in three new colors: high-tech silver, graphite grey metallic and mojave silver.
